MyEdDebt is a federal government portal that provides access for students who have signed up for FFEL, or Federal Family Education Loans, including Federal PLUS, Federal Consolidation, and Federal Stafford loans.
Along with being able to apply for a federal student loan online, MyEdDebt allows users to pay their loans using a debit, credit or check on the internet.
How to Register, Join and Pay On My Debt Resolution Online
Step 1. Visit www.myeddebt.com.
Step 2. Register for access by clicking on the blue Borrower link at the bottom of the page, then going to the Register Now button.
Step 3. You will need to enter the following details on the next page- your Social Security Number, Last Name, Email Address, Zip Code and Date of Birth to continue. The ones with asterisks are required, and if you’re not residing in the US, you may put in 00000 as the zip code to continue.
Step 4. The next time you visit the website, enter your Username and Password to get to your loan account. Click on the Borrower link, then after you log in you can get to the My Account page for several account service options, including paying via credit card, debit card or check.
Other Important Information You Should Know
The My Account section contains useful sections such as Payment History, Pay Now, Debt Summary, Account Information, and Repayment Agreements. You can also Send Email or Submit a Complaint by clicking on the respective links.
For security purposes, make sure to log out after each session. Do not share your Username and Password to anyone. To retrieve a forgotten password, click on the “Forgot User ID/ Password?” on the user login section.
